王新鹏先生是当下欧洲杰出的华裔编舞家，出生于中国大连，曾在北京中央舞团和北京芭蕾舞团任首席舞者，并在世界范围内巡演。2000年曾与张艺谋合作，时任芭蕾舞剧《大红灯笼高高挂》的舞蹈编导。1989年移居欧洲，开启了他的职业编舞生涯，并先后为世界各地的舞团和剧院编创百余部作品。

在本次【意思课堂】中， 王新鹏先生将分享他从舞者到编舞一路以来的职业艺术生涯，探讨他在处理东西文化差异、灵感和创作的宝贵经验。 您将看到如何制作并世界首演一部作品，台前幕后的各项细节和准备工作，以及德国经典小说《浮士德》的主要内容。

In our days Wang Xinpeng is Europe’s most outstanding choreographer with Chinese origin. Born in Dalian he has been touring around the whole world as soloist dancer of the Beijing Central Dance Company and the Beijing Ballet Company. He move to Europe in 1989 and started a remarkable career as choreographer of more than 100 works for theatres all over the world. Since 15 years he is the artistic director of Ballett Dortmund which he raised to an international renowned center of dance art. Wang Xinpeng is widely appreciated by audience and critics for his achievements in creating world premieres of new topics and compositions.

In the lecture Mr. Wang will tell about his youth in China, his artistic career as dancer and choreographer as well as his experiences with European culture, inspirations and way of creating. You will learn about how to create a world premiere, the logistics behind art of dance as well as the content of Goethe’s classic novel of FAUST.
