陶身体剧场还受到国际时尚界的青睐，曾多次与不同时尚品牌、杂志和独立摄影师跨界合作。世界时尚权威杂志“VOGUE”曾三次专访舞团并力邀不同知名摄影师为其打造时尚大片。2015年巴黎时装周，陶身体受邀与日本设计师山本耀司的Y3品牌进行现场合作。
2014年纽约Time Out杂志在纽约城市每年几十万演出中，评选陶身体剧场为十个（2014最佳舞蹈表演）之一，成为2014亚洲地区唯一入围的舞团。
2015年韩国光州亚洲艺术剧院、英国伦敦沙德勒之井、上海国际艺术节、台中国家歌剧院联合委约舞团新作《8》。
2017年，澳大利亚亚太表演艺术三年展-墨尔本艺术中心、英国伦敦沙德勒之井、法国巴黎城市剧院-巴黎维莱特剧院、上海国际舞蹈中心、台中歌剧院联合委约陶身体剧场的新作品《9》。
TAO Dance Theater, a full-time dance company, was founded by Tao Ye, Duan Ni and Wang Hao in 2008. Over the last nine years, TAO Dance Theater has toured in more than forty countries and over a hundred arts festivals, attracting the attention and receiving high acclaim from all over the world. It has become one of the most eye-catching contemporary dance companies in the world.
TAO were published by The New York Times for four times，The New York Times critic Alastair Macaulay has praised the company’s “theatrical force and authority. [The dancers’] athletic control is remarkable. Powerful drive…physicality and momentum… extraordinary and appealing.”
TAO was the first contemporary dance company from China invited to perform in Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts(US) 、Edinburgh International Festival (UK) 、Sydney Opera House (AU) and the Theatre de la Ville in Paris（France）; the first Chinese company invited to be artists-in-residence for ADF’s six week festival. Sadler’s Wells (UK) has commissioned the company with four consecutive years and invited the company to perform in London for four times.
The company has already performed in many countries on five continents, including tours in the USA, UK, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Israel, Spain, Austria, Korea, Germany, Sweden, Poland, Belgium, Finland, Switzerland, France, Indonesia etc. Festivals including Sydney Opera House “Spring Dance”, Theatre de la Ville in Paris , Dance Umbrella in London, Julidans in Amsterdam, New York Fall For Dance, Canada’s National Arts Centre, Suzanne Dellal Tel Aviv Dance Days, Singapore Arts Festival, Madrid en Danza, Wiener Festwochen, Taipei Novel Dance Series, Hong Kong New Vision Arts Festival, China National Centre for the Performing Arts， India Attakkalari Biennale, Arts Centre Melbourne, Helsinki Festival 、Budapest Trafó House of Contemporary Arts、Barcelona Mercat de les Flors、National Taichung Theater、Manarat Al Saadiyat, Abu Dhabi、Maison de la Danse in Lyon, Cloud Gate Theater, etc. among the world’s major festivals and venues. The best touring record of the company reached 42 performances at 21 arts festivals in 25 cities of 12 countries in one year.
TAO Dance Theater has stirred the attention of China’s fashion industry, leading to cooperation with various fashion brands, magazines and photographers. VOGUE China has featured the company for three times and invited them to collaborate with renowned photographers and videographers. During the Paris Fashion Week 2015, TAO was invited to collaborate at the show with Y3, the brand established by Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto.
In 2014, Time Out New York named TAO Dance Theater’s performances one of the “10 Best Dance Shows of 2014,” the only company on the list from Asia.
2015, Asia Culture Center (Gwangju, Korea), Sadler’s Wells, Shanghai International Arts Festival and National Taichung Theater co-commissioned the company’s work “8”.
In 2017, Asia TOPA & Arts Centre Melbourne, Sadler’s Wells, Théâtre de la Ville – Paris / La Villette-Paris, Shanghai International Dance Centre and National Taichung Theater have confirmed to co-commission the company’s new work “9”.
陶 冶 艺术总监 | 编舞
出生于重庆，毕业于重庆舞蹈学校。曾在上海武警政治部文工团、上海金星舞蹈团和北京现代舞团担任舞者。2008年3月创立陶身体剧场，主要作品包括：《重3》、《2》、《4》、《5》、《6》、《7》、《8》。2011年应邀参演由崔健执导的电影《蓝色骨头》。2012年获亚洲时尚杂志《Men`s Uno风度》颁发的“2012年亚洲十大风度人物”奖。同年，陶冶被英国Sadler`s Wells机构评选为New Wave Associates世界六位编舞家其中之一。2013年获《新京报》中国时尚权力榜颁发的"年度时尚舞蹈家"时尚创造大奖, 2015年再次被《新京报》评为"年度新锐艺术家"。
段 妮 创团舞者 | 排练总监
出生于西安，毕业于陕西省艺术学校。2004年毕业于北京舞蹈学院现代舞编导（广东班）由中国著名舞蹈教育家及曾广东实验现代舞团团长（创始人）杨美琦女士创办。在校间曾获美国舞蹈节奖学金。曾在上海金星舞团、英国伦敦阿库汉姆舞团和美国纽约沈伟舞蹈艺术担任舞者。2008年8月加入陶身体剧场。曾三度随不同舞团受邀美国纽约林肯艺术中心进行表演，并三次荣登《纽约时报》，获得“非凡强大的、令人敬畏的、控制力极强”的高度评价。

《6》将脊椎作为人原动力“动”的回归，通过旋扭、折叠脊柱来拓展空间的多元层次，更通过脊柱的运动传递每个由内至外延伸的过程末梢，在删减掉手舞足蹈的常规肢体语汇中而凝练出身体成为躯干运动，自始至终的整体意义。作品的灯光设计由瑞典视觉艺术家Ellen Ruge创作，出生于北欧的她赋予了作品流动交错的光线而贯穿整场，引发了光影之间动态般的奇幻奇妙之境。
6 revolves around the spine to represent a return to the most primal active force “to move” as human beings. The manifold of space is slowly unwoven in the deliberate twisting and bending of the spine. A complete and holistic meaning is given to body movement as the dancers deliver each and every moving force from inside out – from the spine to the limbs and to the most minute muscles. Upper bodies and shoulders circle, as if in trance, to monotonous electric strings or meditative monastic drones. Heads are bent to the ground or raised to the sky. Rigid steps and angular turns alternate with loose swaying movements. Elastic lightness becomes rigid minimalism and takes on threatening martial aspects. In this process, ordinary movements of the body are condensed to the most essential motions. Designed by the famed Swedish visual artist Ellen Ruge, the streaming and interlacing lighting for 6 creates a fantastically dynamic play of light and shadow.

新作《9》想要探寻的，是如何归拢与突破曾经叠加累积的这一秩序。因此《9》将尝试通过一系列的「乱」去寻源讨本。是在混沌中发现隐藏的秩序，还是深入冲突中重建表面之下事物间更玄妙的连接？这所有的一切将有待一个全新的发觉。
数字9在中国传统文化中有着「九九归一」的重要寓意，即一切百转千回仍归源头，意味着曲折、极限，也意味着回归。《9》相对已完成的数位系列作品来说无疑是身体语汇上的完全释放，也终将抵达观念上的归拢。作品《9》是数位中最重要的分界点，是系列创作的终极还是重启？唯有在完成它的过程里梳理出更多的线索，才能决定未来作品如何进行与存在的可能。
《9》将整合过往作品里一元、二元、多元的表达方式，在视觉上呈现出一种万象即简约的相持关系，从而通过观看，令观者在乱象的干扰下还原每个人独自的发现与建构其中的关联。
The new work, 9, is seeking to assemble, or perhaps even override this progressive order. Therefore, 9 will seek the origin through a series of “chaos”. Nonetheless, it is not yet determined whether this will mean the uncovering of a hidden disorder beneath an apparent, schematic form, or whether 9 will reconstruct an underlying interconnected substratum behind a chaotic surface.
The number 9 is significant in China`s cultural context – as the Chinese saying says, “as one progresses through nine multiples of nine hardships, one gets back to one”, which represents adversities, limitations, and a final revisit of one`s origin. 9, in relation to completed works in the Numerical Series, will certainly be an explosion of previously accumulated choreographic vocabularies, but it will also be a consummation of all conceptual undertakings of the entire series. 9 is therefore a crucial turning point in the Numerical Series – whether it will be the finale or the reset of the creation. The possibility of future work relies utterly on the careful completion of 9, from which artistic clues and inspirations for my next artistic advancement are to be identified and gleaned.
9 will depart from the monist, dualist and multiple ways of expression, and present a relationship between complexity and simplicity, which asks each member of the audience to discover and construct possible connections within the choreography individually and independently.
